Easy tips

Now we know the importance of the world around us. The world needs us to help save the environment. We do not exactly need to stop using electricity altogether and clean up the ocean by ourselves. We can help in our own little way because little things make a big difference. Even turning the lights off can help save the environment.
We should do all we can to save and conserve. I have some tips on conserving and helping the environment.

·      You should watch less TV. When coupled with a receiver, stereo system, lighting, air conditioning, and gaming device, the mere act of sitting in front of the television or computer can be damaging to the environment. Try to engage in more outdoor or social activities.

·      Turn off your computer at night. You can save up to 40 watt-hours every day simply by shutting your computer down instead of putting it to sleep.

·      Limit your use of water, make sure you don't leave taps/hoses running when not necessary.

·      Don't leave the lights on when departing a room, even if it is only for a short period.
·      Switch to rechargeable batteries. The regular ones end up in landfills, oozing toxins.
·      Look for earth-friendly packaging. Tissue paper, boxes and those pesky packing peanuts all eat up natural resources.
·      Walk, run or bike. Not driving just once a week cuts back on fuel and emissions.

I hope you will follow these easy to do tips. I also hope that I have inspired you to help make the world a better place.

Save these species

Have you heard about the Waling-Waling, Almaciga, or the Tamaraw? These names all have one thing in common these species are endangered. These animals all play a role in our lives and survival. Whether we know it or not we are all connected to each other. For example less plants means less herbivores, less herbivores means less food for us. Think of the different species of the environment as bricks in the pyramid. The structure is very strong but if you keep removing bricks from the structure eventually it will collapse. Everything is important even if their roles are not obvious. The sad truth is there are many endangered animals but there are people trying to save the environment and the animals that reside there.  Let us join in their fight and help save the environment.
HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF ENDANGERED SPECIES:
Endangered animals
·      Philippine Eagle
·      Philippine Spotted Deer
·      Philippine Freshwater Crocodile
·      Tamaraw
·      Philippine Tarsier

Endangered plants
·      Philippine Date Palm
·      Waling-Waling
·      Almaciga
·      Jade Vine
·      Rafflesia

Environmental degradation

Environmental degradation is known as the deterioration of the environment through depletion of resources such as air, water and soil and the destruction of ecosystems and the extinction of wildlife. It not only affects the environment but also us as human beings. Everything in the word is interconnected. We depend on each other to survive. Taking something away from existence can greatly affect all the other beings on the planet. We should learn to respect even the smallest of creatures because they play their role in our survival and everything’s survival. One of the saddest truths about environmental degradation is that it is usually caused by human beings.
Ecological degradation can be caused by many different things such as urban development, pollution, deforestation, and the increase of population. Most of these are caused by the increase of population. When the population increases we need more shelter, which causes pollution, to build houses we need trees but we always forget to replant. It all goes down to the increase of population. Ecological degradation causes illness and death. We can help save the planet in own little way by using the 3 Rs namely reduce, reuse, and recycle. We can conserve water instead of wasting it. We should also throw our trash in appropriate trash bins.
